Huge Success for Terra Mater Factual Studios at the US-Nature Film-‘Oscars’

After the announcement of the finalists of one of the most prestigious Nature Film Festivals in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Terra Mater Factual Studios are enjoying great success – three of TMFS’ latest productions prevailed against the crème de la crème of the international natural history docs.

One of the successful Terra Mater Factual Studios productions is ‘Bird Brain‘ – a film about the intelligence of birds that has been nominated in the category ‘Best Science and Nature Program’.

The three-episode co-production of Terra Mater Factual Studios, the BBC and Oxford Scientific Films ‘Richard Hammond’s Miracles of Nature’ has been selected in the category ‘Best Limited Series’. The series, which is hosted by Top-Gear-Star Richard Hammond, will run against two blue-chip BBC-series and has been nominated in the category ‘Best Presenter-led Program’ as well.

The craft categories of the festival rank among the most prestigious award categories, that is why they are highly competitive. It is a huge honour for TMFS that the visually stunning production ‘Namibia’s Desert Kingdom’ has been nominated in the category ‘Best Cinematography’. The show is not only celebrating Martyn Colbeck’s brilliant camera work, but also Richard Matthews’ last aerial photography. This film is also dedicated to Richard Matthews, who is sadly missed by the wildlife film-making community.

The whole industry is now looking forward to the announcement of the winners of this year’s Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival on 27th September.

“We are very pleased with the nominations. They show us that we are heading in the right direction with our productions”, says Walter Köhler, CEO of Terra Mater Factual Studios.
