Our Impact

Impact Storytelling

Our feature documentaries aim to inspire, but also to change mindsets in a positive and lasting way. Using science-based impact campaigns built around several of our features, including “The Ivory Game” and “Sea of Shadows”, we have helped to achieve meaningful social, political, and environmental change.

Two divers are underwater, one with a camera capturing a large sunfish in its natural habitat. The ocean is clear and blue, producing a mesmerizing play of sunlight filtering down. The sunfish is near the surface, displaying its distinct shape and size against the serene backdrop.

Green Business

We at Terra Mater Studios truly believe that we need to take responsibility for our planet. This applies not just to the decisions we take as individuals, but to every aspect of our business. By incorporating the UN Sustainable Development Goals into our processes, and seeking to reduce our corporate carbon footprint, we maintain a constant awareness of our impact on the planet. Our aim is to leave a positive environmental footprint – to inspire others to be part of the solution.

Green Producing

As a major part of our business, green producing is key to lowering our emissions and reducing our impact on the environment. Together with experts, we developed our green production criteria, which we’ve been following since 2022. Already, several of our productions have been certified with the Austrian Ecolabel UZ76. Besides making our own producing strategy as sustainable as possible, we seek to connect with partners who want to create the same green future for filmmaking.

Green Guidelines

Alongside our green production criteria, we have compiled green guidelines to help us foster a circular economy, reduce waste and pollution, and regenerate nature wherever we can. From energy sources – converting to green electricity, or avoiding disposable batteries – to travel, accommodation, and catering choices, we seek to make every production as green as possible. We also encourage careful use of resources, avoid environmental pollution, and favor reuse or repair over recycling.
