Green Producing

As a major part of our business, green producing is key to lowering our emissions and reducing our impact on the environment. We have worked with expert consultants to create our green producing criteria, which help us to find lower-impact solutions by rethinking all aspects of production. These self-imposed guidelines have been followed strictly since 2022 and are already showing positive results.

From emissions to mobility, each Terra Mater production is overseen by a trained green consultant or other qualified individual, with the TMS sustainability team on hand to offer advice and support. The green consultant’s role is to inform, incentivize, and involve the entire team in leaving as little impact on the environment as possible.

Our comprehensive guidelines consider elements such as energy sources, use of resources, travel, catering, and waste production. Our video offers a taste of how we do it, and more details can be found under our Green Guidelines.

More Information
A dedicated film crew is setting up equipment on a rocky mountain peak, surrounded by majestic snow-capped mountains. The sky is partly cloudy as five people work together, with one expertly operating the camera and others assisting. They're committed to green producing throughout the shoot.

Other important aspects of green producing include an emissions assessment, continuous evaluation and data collection, and a green report at the end of the production period, which is subject to approval by Terra Mater Studios and/or an external consultant. Any unavoidable emissions are compensated through a certified program. When choosing partners to work with, we seek to collaborate with those who are also trying to build a sustainable and greener future for film.

Thanks to our green producing criteria, several Terra Mater productions have attained sustainable certification with the Austrian Ecolabel UZ76. These include “Collider Diaries”, “Hippo King”, “Viennese Water” and “On the Precipice – The Alps”.
