CCDA & IDA Awards nominations for ‘Sea of Shadows’ ahead of the Academy awards season

October 2019: ‘Sea of Shadows’ continues its successful festival campaign at the four most prestigious US-Documentary Film-Events.

The nominees for the fourth annual Critics’ Choice Documentary Awards (CCDA) have been announced at the beginning of this week. A gala event takes place on November 10th, 2019, in New York, whereby the chosen productions will be honoured.

Terra Mater Factual Studios are delighted to see their feature documentary ‘Sea of Shadows’ nominated four times:
* Best Cinematography: Richard Ladkani
* Best Editing: Georg Michael Fischer and Verena Schönauer
* Best Score: H. Scott Salinas
* Best Science/Nature Documentary

Furthermore, ‘Sea of Shadows’ received two nominations from the International Documentary Association (IDA). Their 35th annual award show will be held on December 7th, 2019 in Los Angeles. This time nominated for ‘Feature Documentary’ as well as for ‘Best Music Score’.

But this is not all, the documentary thriller will be shown at two other notable festivals, these being the Savannah Film Festival ‘Docs to Watch’-Panel and the DOC NYC Festivals.

On November 9th, 2019, ahead of all the above festival activity, TV audiences will be wowed across 172 countries and in 42 languages, as they will be able to watch the Broadcast Premiere of ‘Sea of Shadows’ on the National Geographic Channel.

The flurry of above activity bodes well, as we head into the Academy Awards season over the coming months. The feature documentary field is strong this year, but we have our fingers (and toes) crossed to make it to the nominations.
