NaturVision: Best Camera award for ephemeral beings: Butterflies!

July 2018: TMFS are most delighted to have received the NaturVision Camera Award for the production ‘Sex, Lies and Butterflies’, directed by Ann Johnson Prum.

The prestigious German film festival NaturVision, now in its 26th edition, is dedicated to nature, animals and environment. The 2018 festival took place from July 19th-22nd in the German city of Ludwigsburg.

The NaturVision Camera Award is handed out to the film in which the camera work contributes most uniquely to the artistic and aesthetic quality of the film. Ephemeral and incandescent – filming such special beings as moths and butterflies is a challenge on its own – and it was mastered splendidly in ‘Sex, Lies and Butterflies’ under the watchful eyes of cinematographers Mark Carroll, Russell Kaya and Ann Johnson Prum, fingers right on the record button. Additional cinematography was provided by Ronan Donovan and Lance Holland.

Congratulations to all on this wonderful achievement!
