TERRA MATER STUDIOS PRODUCTIONS HONORED WITH TWO NEWS AND DOCUMENTARY EMMY NOMINATIONS

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has announced the nominations for the 45th Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards, and Austrian production company Terra Mater Studios is among the nominees.

Two documentaries co-produced by Terra Mater Studios and The WNET Group in association with PBS and CPB have been nominated in the Outstanding Nature Documentary category. The awards will be presented live at the Palladium Times Square in New York City over two ceremonies and can be watched on the website watch.theemmys.tv. The News Categories will be presented on September 25, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. EDT, and the Documentary Categories on September 26, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. EDT.

Released last year, “The Hummingbird Effect” has already received more than eight nominations and was even awarded with a Gold Dolphin at the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards . “The Hummingbird Effect” showcases Costa Rica’s remarkable biodiversity and the crucial role hummingbirds play in its diverse ecosystems, embodying the spirit of “Pura Vida” – Pure Life. The documentary is a co-production of Terra Mater Studios and THIRTEEN Productions LLC in association with PBS , CPB and The WNET Group produced by Coneflower Studios. Thanks to its high quality and success, the documentary was acquired by National Geographic Channels International at the end of 2023.

The second nomination went to “Soul of the Ocean”. This documentary has garnered more than ten nominations and was awarded Best Animal Behavior Documentary at the Jackson Wild Media Awards 2021. “Soul of the Ocean” explores the surprising peacefulness and co-operation in ocean ecosystems, highlighting the critical role of biodiversity in maintaining a healthy marine environment through stunning underwater cinematography. The documentary is a production of Terra Mater Studios, HOWARD HALL PRODUCTIONS , Mark Fletcher Productions in co-production with the WNET Group in association with PBS and CPB. The high-quality production stood out and was also acquired by National Geographic Channels International last year.

This is the 16th time that Terra Mater Studios have been nominated for the News & Documentary Emmy Awards, and the team is thrilled to once again be part of this prestigious list of outstanding documentaries. Walter Köhler, CEO of Terra Mater Studios, expresses his excitement, saying,
